Every remarkable life often starts with a single, clear passion. For one creative individual, this began not just in the classroom, but by joining the campus press conference. While learning to write and speak well was important, the deepest love was always art.

This special person is no other than Rodel Margaux Hilado, born on January 27, 1991. His artistic journey started very early. By the young age of six in 1997, he already had a DSLR camera and soon turned his picture-taking hobby into a small business. He lives in a successful town that helps many students. Rodel has a great way of looking at life, saying he was born to be “cool” and that he doesn’t feel stress or pressure.

Rodel said, “in failing, there’s a realization.” This means every time he faces a setback, it just helps him understand something new. This tough mindset helped him do many things, even becoming an international actress. He believes the world works by connecting people and ideas. He also values learning, saying that real knowledge comes from thinking.

Because he wants to show how great his home area is, Rodel is a key member of the SOCCSKSARGEN vlogger group. He uses social media to clearly tell everyone that his region is safe and full of energy. By doing this, he uses his creative skills to help his community and share a positive message.

His love for art became a successful business when he opened a coffee shop. The shop became popular because he and his group planned everything right through social media. This shows that mixing artistic ideas with smart online tools can lead to great success in life.

Because of his great talent and positive work in the community, Rodel Margaux Hilado received a high honor: he was named the first outstanding South Cotabateños in arts. From his early days in school reporting to becoming a thriving artist and businessman, Hilado’s story is a bright example of living a life full of passion and purpose.

Refuse – say “no” to the things you don’t need. Instead of spending things that aren’t essential, save the money, save mother nature, save the earth.

Reduce -Buy only what you need, choose products with less packaging, and save energy or water. In this way, you can also save your allowance for something useful.

Reuse –Use things again or donate old stuffs instead of throwing them away so people in need can use it for another day.

Repurpose –Take an old item and turn it into something new and useful, things like water bottles turned into pots for plants.

Recycle –Put certain waste in a special bin to be remade, so that it will have another purpose and not add to the mountains of trash thrown away.

A stunning and serene crater lake in South Cotabato, Mindanao, known as the “Crown Jewel of the South”. It is surrounded by lush mountains, offers stunning views, and is a sacred place for the local T’boli tribe.

Lake Holon—it was formed after an eruption of the dormant stratovolcano on January 4, 1641.The T’boli believe that 15 guardian spirits protect the lake, represented by the 15 mountain peaks surrounding it. They consider it as a sacred place with mystical guardians.

American surveyors whose plane crashed there named it Lake Maughan that translates to evil witch in T’boli folklore. Meanwhile—in September 6,1995, a collapse of the crater wall caused a flood that killed at least 53 people—so the name was changed to Holon, which means “deep water” in local language. In 2002, the name was officially change to Lake Holon.

On October 1, 2023 a bisaya traveler documented his beautiful and amazing experience on his adventure at Lake Holon—encouraging a lot of people to go there.

“Can you fall in love with a place? Because I swear Lake Holon just gave me butterflies.”, Aldrich Infantado stated—the bisaya traveler.

He was mesmerized by its jaw-dropping scenery as he stands atop the Lake Holon view deck. With its towering peaks and dreamy shades of blue and green, was such a place for exhausted souls to recharge that he rubbed his eyes to check if the view was real, yet it was as genuine as the air we’re breathing.

For years, he had dreamt and yearned to see this majestic natural wonder in South Cotabato. But his life had other plans—he was having a hard times and there were many stumbling blocks that’s stopping him from taking Lake Holon hike. But the time has come—there he is enjoying every seconds of his journey.
